The University requests that a qualified artists and sculpture studios with experience in design and
fabrication of large-scale, outdoor bronze sculptures. The sculpture of the “Proud Bobcat,” the university’s
mascot, will be placed at the entrance to campus to welcome the campus community and provide a
touchstone for future UC Merced students and alumni as we establish traditions for our young campus.
The Request for Statements of Qualifications (RFQ), which sets forth details regarding the scope of services,
the selection process, and other necessary information, is posted at the following website:
http://www.ucmerced.edu/rfp-rfq. A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) form, a Request for Supplemental
Information, a registration form, and instructions for other requirements for the submittal also are
included.
The RFQ for this project will be available beginning January 13, 2021. One (1) electronic PDF copy of the Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) submittal are required, and they must
be uploaded to Box Folder https://ucmerced.app.box.com/f/9a9f71b2d43647ffbb755604ef279fcd no later than 2:00 pm, March 4, 2021.
