EMERGENCY EYEWASH CORRECTION (SE1)

UNIVERSITY OF CALIFORNIA, MERCED

DESCRIPTION OF PROJECT:

Modification and/or installation of emergency shower, eyewash and face wash units for compliance with both ADA and Code requirements in the existing Science and Engineering 1 Building. This is an occupied lab building with active research ongoing. Detailed coordination of schedule and work will be required. This project consists of (12) modifications to existing eyewash units, replacement of approximately (69) sink mount eyewash units, installation of (11) emergency shower units, installation of (5) corner face wash units, modifications to approximately (20) sinks to meet ADA compliance and other minor code corrections. Electrical and data outs relocation or removal, ceiling tile and grid removal and replacement, with some wall patch and finish. The project delivery is multi-prime, each trade will contract with the University with coordination and planning required between trades for their scope of work and maintaining the schedule.

Project Completion: February 1, 2019

Estimated construction cost: $295,000

Bidding Documents will be made available October 10, 2018.

A NON-MANDATORY Pre-Bid Conference will be conducted on Wednesday, October 17, 2018 beginning promptly at 10:00 AM. Participants shall meet at 5200 N. Lake Rd, Merced, CA 95343, UC Merced Campus, Science & Engineering 1, First Floor Lobby. Parking permits are required throughout campus and are available at yellow dispenser at the LeGrand and North Bowl.
