The University of California, Merced is soliciting Statements of Qualifications from architectural firms with extensive experience in University major laboratory & clinical facilities for psychology and public health submit written statements of qualifications for providing programing, full architectural, engineering, and specialty consulting services through the design, construction, and close-out phase of the proposed project. The architecture firm will be selected to provide complete programming, design and construction administration services for a CM-AT-RISK project delivery process as an Executive Architect.

PROJECT BACKGROUND & DESCRIPTON
The new Health and Behavioral Sciences Medical Education (HBS-ME) building will be approximately 180,000 GSF and will enable the University to support existing programs and expanded student enrollment while also providing facilities for sufficient enrollment in new medical education and health sciences programs to measurable mitigate the Central Valley’s severe physician and healthcare worker shortage. This building will provide private offices, open offices, laboratory space, medical education and anatomy teaching facilities, support spaces, and auditorium and classrooms. The building will also house the Health Sciences Research Institute and Institute for Child and Family Sciences and the Community Public Health Sample Collection and Analysis Laboratories with accessible parking. The Health and Behavioral Sciences Building will sit on the future site located south of the new Arts and
Computational Sciences Building and will be adjacent to the University’s laboratory buildings and new Academic Quad. The HBS-ME building will house medical education and allied healthcare instructional and support facilities (including simulation and virtual anatomy), in addition to two of UC Merced’s largest and fastest growing academic departments, Psychological Sciences and Public Health, and general assignment and distance learning classrooms. The UC Merced campus is committed to sustainability and will require this project, at a minimum, to achieve LEED GOLD certification or better and to meet campus building energy performance benchmarks. 

 

The Request for Statements of Qualifications (RFQ), which sets forth details regarding the scope ofservices, the selection process, and other necessary information, is posted at the following website:http://www.ucmerced.edu/rfp-rfq. A Statement of Qualifications (SOQ) form, a Request for Supplemental
Information, a registration form, and instructions for other requirements for the submittal also are included.  The RFQ for this project will be available November 20, 2020.
